A compact, high-impact primate journey — Kigali culture and history, a mountain gorilla trek through the Virunga foothills, and a golden monkey encounter in Volcanoes National Park.
Meet your professional English- or French-speaking driver-guide in Kigali and begin your Rwanda adventure with a guided city tour — the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, an important place of remembrance and reflection, followed by Kimironko local market for a taste of Rwanda's vibrant daily life. After lunch at a local restaurant, depart for Volcanoes National Park in the northwest, enjoying a scenic drive through rolling hills and picturesque countryside. Check in at your lodge near the park and settle in ahead of tomorrow's gorilla trek.

Return to the lodge for a hot lunch and some time to relax; in the afternoon, you may opt to visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund's Ellen DeGeneres Campus at an additional cost, subject to availability.
